Dan Hemmert - Partner
Dan Hemmert is a Founding Partner of Horizon. Dan is responsible for leading the firm's secondary private equity deal execution team. Prior to Horizon, Dan led the transaction services team for all U.S.-based secondary transactions for Partners Group, a premier Fund of Funds and secondary investor based in Switzerland. While on the transaction services team, Dan structured, negotiated and executed over $400 million in secondary transactions.
Prior to Partners Group, Dan was an associate with the international law firm Pillsbury working in the corporate and securities group. While with Pillsbury, Dan specialized in public-to-private and private placement transactions. Prior to Pillsbury, Dan was a principal at a private real estate firm and an analyst in the M&A group at Zions Bank.
Dan graduated with a JD/MBA from Brigham Young University and also completed his undergraduate studies at Brigham Young University in Economics. As a former member of the BYU Cycling Team and a regular participant in the Utah Winter Games, Dan is an avid outdoor sportsman regularly competing in biking, running, and skiing events.
Justin Jory - Partner
Justin Jory is a Founding Partner of Horizon. Justin is responsible for leading the firm's secondary private equity deal sourcing team. Prior to Horizon, Justin was an associate in the Financial Sponsors Group at Banc of America (BofA) Securities in New York City. While with the group, Justin led an internal effort to develop and raise a private mezzanine fund dedicated to financing mid-market leveraged buyouts. Justin structured and advised on over $7 billion in LBO transactions working with leading buyout funds such as Apollo, Bain, Blackstone, and TPG.
Prior to BofA Securities, Justin was an associate with UV Partners, a top quartile venture capital fund based in Salt Lake City, Utah. While with UV Partners, Justin screened and researched potential venture investments in the software, networks, and life sciences sectors. Prior to UV, Justin was a junior associate at a real estate development law firm that specialized in land use litigation located in Salt Lake City.
Justin received a JD/MBA from Brigham Young University and also completed his undergraduate degree at Brigham Young University in Philosophy. As a former tight end for the BYU Football Team, Justin enjoys playing sports specifically basketball and football.

Todd Miller - Associate
Todd Miller is an Associate at Horizon Partners. Todd is responsible for managing client relationships, deal sourcing, and secondary transaction analysis. Prior to Horizon Partners, Todd worked with Granada Advisors providing consulting and financial modeling services to small and mid-market companies in the Rocky Mountain Region. Todd also worked as an intern with Peterson Ventures performing industry analysis and developing a strategic growth plan for one of their portfolio companies. Todd is currently finishing his bachelor's degree in Business Management with an emphasis in Finance at Brigham Young University.
Andrew George - Associate
Andrew George is an Associate at Horizon Partners. Andrew is responsible for managing client relationships, deal sourcing, and secondary transaction analysis. Prior to Horizon, Andrew worked as a research assistant analyzing sales and volume trends in U.S. real estate. Andrew currently plays tight end for the BYU Football Team and is finishing his bachelor's degree in Business Management with an emphasis in Finance at Brigham Young University.
